Sharing a folder

How do I share a folder with other people?

You can collaborate on projects by giving a person, or a group of people, access to a shared folder on your computer. To join a shared folder, your recipients need to have a SugarSync account. If they are not already using SugarSync, the Shared Folder invitation will provide the opportunity sign up for a free account.

To share a synced folder:

1. Select the folder in SugarSync Manager, or in My SugarSync website.
2. Click Share Folder.
3. Choose an option under Permissions:
   • Read Only means that recipients can view and download files from the shared folder, but cannot make any changes to the files.
   • Add & Edit Files allows recipients to sync the folder to their own computers.  See Syncing a Shared Folder to find out how.
     Note: The same permissions are set for all folder members.  
4. Enter each recipient's email address, and type an optional message.
5. Click Send.
