Dead Trigger for Android

Dead Trigger is now free on Android, devs blame rampant piracy on Android.

One of the hottest mobile games of this summer – Dead Trigger – is now free on Android’s Play Store. This is not a limited time promotion, nor has the developer implemented in-game ads to make up for drop in price.

Mad Finger, the game’s developer, says the reason behind the permanent price drop is the “unbelievably high” piracy. It also stresses the game will remain free to play – you won’t need to buy anything from the in-app purchases (though if you want to, you can).

The game still costs $0.99 on iOS and will stay this way.

Micromax Funbook Pro Tab

Micromax to launch 10.1 inch Funbook Pro Tab by next week.

Expected to be priced within Rs 10K the Funbook Pro will come with 1.2 GHz processor and Android 4.0 ICS OS.

Micromax is all set to launch a bigger version of its popular Funbook tablet. The new version called the Funbook Pro will come with a 10.1 inch multi touch display with 1024x600 resolution and a 1.2 GHz Cortex A-8 processor coupled with Mali 400 GPU and 1 GB RAM.

Like the previous version, this tablet will also be based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and aimed at students (edutainment as they call) with entertainment and education as the two purposes of the tablet.

The tablet will get a front facing VGA camera, HDMI, USB port and 8 GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32 GB. It will only have WiFi connectivity but support 3G dongles too.

The company spokesperson confirmed to The Mobile Indian the launch plan for Funbook Pro saying that it is just round the corner but refused to disclose the pricing. However given it history of disruptive pricing by Micromax, we expect it to be priced below Rs 10,000.

It looks like a smart move by Micromax, since 7 inch tablet market is going to face a lot of heat as and when the Google Nexus 7 tablet is launched, given that it is a Quad core high end tablet priced at the doorstep of entry level tablets at $200 (Rs 11,000).

In that scenario Micromax will have a maneuvering space in a bigger size segment with little lesser price pressure. This is also because 7 inch market has already become over crowded, while only high end products are available in the 10 inch segment with price range of Rs 25,000 or above.

Galaxy Ace and Gio become the first ARMv6 smartphones to get CM10 ports.

Manufacturers are still taking their time with the official Jelly Bean updates, but the guys over at XDA-developers have been quite busy porting the latest Android distribution to various smartphones and already have quite a lot to show for their efforts.

The most recent achievement of the indie dev community is quite impressive though. The Samsung Galaxy Ace and Gio – two smartphones based on the older-gen ARMv6 CPU – got CM10 ports, which will certainly be their only chance of tasting Jelly Bean.

While the ROMs are still in the early alpha stages of their development, they already have support for most of the two smartphone’s hardware. They are some way off from being ready for everyday duties, but at least they give you a preview of what’s to come.

They refuse to keep the stairway to Heaven clear or clean, since they keep crouching down midway eating samosas and drinking chai (tea). Some of them are even walking around with just one wing !  They do not believe in discipline and push their way through the line.'

The Lord said, 'Indians are Indians. Heaven is home to all my children. If you want to know about real problems, give  a call to Yamraj in the Hell.' Yamraj answered the phone, 'Hello? Damn, hold on a minute.' then returned to the phone, 'OK I'm back. What can I do for you?'
